I've got a loaner GT today whilst mine is in for a service (23 plate pure) The only thing that's impressed me over mine is the Focal Subwoofer.
Has anyone retrofitted one? Do you need a separate amp?

Also - Android auto is wireless, is this a setting I need to change on mine, I currently attach a USB to my phone for AA.

Any advice welcome.

I understand its only cars built after September/October 2023 that are wireless for car play and android auto.

A couple of links that I came across for this to provide a better sense of spec - however, have not read about someone actually doing the retro fit:

base focal system:

Focal system with sub and amp:

I've come across 2 retrofits for the sub, one where the owner fitted the OE enclosure, amp and woofer, which requires dropping the rear subframe to fit the enclosure. Another where someone built their own enclosure out of wood and glue with access via the woofer hole.

It's something I will definitely get around to but not in any rush, as the low frequencies from the 2.0 Focal system consistently surprise me.

Wireless smartphone connectivity seemed to come in around Feb/March 2023 build date cars, although if you only have wired you can simply buy an inexpensive dongle to add wireless.

WOW !!!
That's keen, and not cheap either.
I have a slimline sub in my van, under the seat, but I would only trust an auto electrician in the Alpine, I did it old school in the van, because I could.

I think they did the job themselves as they're quite experienced with mechanics and electrics.

I was thinking short term to install an underseat style sub against the bottom of the firewall as it would be the easiest solution, I would just need to make sure the seat runners can't go back all the way otherwise the seat could easily slide back into the sub.

can you please elaborate on your set-up? What sub you went for? Cost? Who you used please?

Thanks in advance.
