2023 build car (rhd) - passenger side rear wheel arch above damper assembly the wiring harness from the ecu is pressed hard into the top of the shock. There is no space and the cable can’t be moved by pressing hard with a blunt object.

Inside the engine bay, remove airbox and you can see how the metal strap is over the harnesses, forcing them down into the shock top.

I removed the airbox bracket, which is just secured with 3x10mm fixings, and re-routed the cables over the top of the bracket. I relocated the sensor plug off the sharp edged bracket and used the bracket to hold a Ty-wrap base which allowed me to pull the cables into the right place. I also loosened the earth point and rotated it slightly.

The result looks much better from the top:

But crucially from underneath:

The shock is no longer chewing its way through the loom.

Obviously I don’t know if my car was badly assembled or if any of you will have this problem but unattended to mine would definitely have caused an issue down-stream.

Hope this helps someone

Many thanks for sharing this and with great photos. At the first opportunity I will have a look at mine, also a mid 2023 build. Cheers

No problem, I actually re-did the work as I was curious why I had to relocate the connector. Turns out it can be done more easily than the version I posted above.

This is the final version, with the connector back where it should be (yellow ring)

I did have to re-wrap the earth wire in some cloth tape to reduce its bulk and make it fit round the back (blue arrow). I also filed the sharp edge of the chassis where it is close to the loom and put a cut piece of clear tube there just in case to protect the edge. (Red arrow) Looks much more oem now.

I did wonder about the connector, as the loom certainly didn't look right as it was, but the connecter didn't seem it should be below the loom either.

Thanks for sharing.

After seeing this thread I've had a look at several cars, from PEs to 73 plates, all of them have the wiring harness in the same place just above the rear shock. Not to say its right or wrong but it's certainly nothing particular to this car.
