Are owners lowering from the medium height setting from factory? I’m 180cm and it seems the R buckets are lower than the standard buckets so has anyone lowered?

No, as the factory which afaik is the middle setting. Needs unbolting etc to alter as you probably know.

I am 6ft so a tad shorter than you, no probs for me. Also wore a helmet on track no problem either.

Tks. The helmet bit was what I’m worried about. I’m going to leave it in the middle.

I lowered mine.

I'm 6'1" (185cm) and had no issue with general headroom on the factory setting. But when leaning my head to the right to assess safe overtaking on a public road, I had to duck my head slightly under the door frame to get it as far right as possible for the best view forwards.

So I bought the security torx kit and fiddled around for half an hour. Now it's lowered it actually feels much better overall, including better helmet clearance for trackdays, so I'm glad I did it.

Better still, my 5'1" wife can a still see over the steering wheel when she's driving it.

(ETA - it's not an R but perhaps useful in general)

Up and down if unbolted. Won't slide though.

The R with its racing buckets in its medium seating is equivalent to the low setting on the regular bucket seat according to my dealer.

Do agree that the consensus is to lower to lowest setting for the normal buckets

Is the shell that different? I've only sat in an R for a couple of minutes but although the seats looked different they felt exactly the same as the ones in my Pure. Would love to be able to get mine a little lower if I could

Alpine would like us to believe that for sure.
I was told that from 6'2 Gavin that it feels like the low seating he has on his demos.

I just tested it with a helmet and it just about fits. Without a helmet it has good all round visibility and I think low enough, can it be lower, sure but whether that has benefits, I dun know. Maybe I'll get it set lower after driving it around for a while and try. For now, since it fits with helmet on, I'll try it first
