Problems with media system - USB

Was wondering what flash memory people are using (assuming I’m not the only one that still uses it).

This relates to the later CarPlay unit.

I’ve had intermittent issues since I bought the car, using a Sandisk ultra fit USB would occasionally crash the ICE system requiring allowing it to reboot. After a while it just started crashing it immediately. I have had cars occasionally reject these particular USBs, so stopped trying to use them. I’ve now bought a different make, but the system is just saying it’s not supported. They are 64gb or less, so within the requirements per handbook.

Any ideas, or is this a likely visit to the dealer to fix the software?

Try (re-) formatting the USB - it worked for me, I took it out of my BMW and the Alpine wouldn't read it; I reformatted it and put the music back on and bingo. Maybe its a French/German thing, I dunno!

Hi,
I had similar issues and tried different cards, asked dealer, asked on here and initially never found solution
If I tried a single mp3 all was good but as soon as I added a full card it wouldn't play or restarted
No idea if it's the solution but I deleted any lyric lrc files, but I believe that the thing that cured things was deleting the lost dir file
I transferred files from android and found that android adds a lost dir file, and this seemed to stopped things working

Thanks guys. Reformatted the drive and it now works.

Whilst it works properly with just a few songs added to test it still doesn’t seem to be working properly once more fully loaded up (about 30Gb) it’s not playing smoothly.
