Alarm sometimes triggers inappropriately
Discussion
I've had my 2023 GT less than 2 months now. One of the main annoyances I've had with it so far is the alarm sometimes goes off when I open the door. It does this maybe 1 in 20 times.
I use keyless entry most of the time, so it's: walk up to car with the key in my pocket > press button on door to unlock > open door > alarm goes off > mild panic to get key out of pocket and press unlock to silence the alarm.
I can't think of anything I'm doing differently on the times that it goes off. Does this happen to anyone else? My searches didn't really return any results so perhaps it's an isolated issue?

Rob, this also happens to me. I have had two Alpines and both did it. The first car seemed to be cured after first service when they did some kind of configuration or reset. The second car was fine for the first few months and has now started the same thing. It will go back for another small warranty item shortly so I will hopefully get it sorted then.

Not had that myself. That said, I pretty much always use the key fob to lock it. Personally I don't like keyless entry and would rather the inconvenience of pushing the button on the key fob in exchange for the added security of turning off the remote entry.
The only time I have heard the alarm was on the Hydrofoil to the IOM - which reminds me - if anyone knows how to disable the sensors that would be useful - in the end I had to leave it unlocked.

I think the problem is that the car key software is buggy. Depending on exactly where you are it may or may not recognise the car key and therefore regard the open door as legitimate or not.
There is a similar issue with the rear boot button. Depending on exactly where you stand it may or may not be sure that the key is outside the car - and therefore may not lock the car when the button is pressed.
Even when the battery is new the car will sometimes say "card key not found" when I am in the driving seat - depending on where on my person the key is.

Mine gives a sort of strangled alarm sound when I open the door with keyless entry. The alarm never sounds completely - it's as if it recognises the key as I get in.
Same here. 1 in 20, perhaps even 1 in 50 times. The alarm squawk is very brief. Perhaps just 0.2sDoesn't bother me enough to do anything about it.

Hold the key fob lock button down when locking until the alarm gives three beeps and that disables the motion sensors. Worked for me on the ferry to Caen on the way to the Circuit des Ramparts (just name dropping!).timbo999 said:

Hmm, will give it another go, but I did try that.... a lot, as I could see the car during the whole trip. Thanks all for the replies, nice to know I'm not the only one, although at the same time kind of disappointing.

Pause for a second or two between pressing the button and opening the door.
I had this early on and it was suggested that the system can't disable quickly enough so the door sensor trips before the alarm is disabled. Since doing that I've never had the problem.
Thanks Jon I will try this. That might make sense since the alarm is a separate system installed this side of the channel iirc, just because the car has recognised the key and unlocked, doesn't mean the alarm has disabled yet. Shame about the delay though, the whole point of keyless entry is it's supposed to be convenient.I had this early on and it was suggested that the system can't disable quickly enough so the door sensor trips before the alarm is disabled.
