Thanks, I have found what looks like an access panel held on with 2 screws so I’ll go down the “ Pot Hole” tomorrow and confirm what I find.
Renault want £90 ish for an engine air filter which is truly a joke so an after market panel filter is now fitted.
Engine and gearbox oil changed without too much drama,
The next mission is the coolant change. I notice the request for support to get Autodoc to issue the procedure. I’m going to purchase a vacuum purge kit and try it out. I haven’t found any bleed valve at the front of the car yet.
I’ll let you all know the success (or failure!)

Well, I've taken off the plastic cover in the right footwell (as shown) and I cannot work out where the filter is?
Anyone got any additional pictures?
(In my UK, right hand drive, car the pedal footrest obscures the front of the ventilation ducting. Is it behind there perhaps?)

Finally found it.
It is as already said in the passengers footwell at the very back next to the bulkhead.
1 Remove the access panel to the fuse box
2 remove the plastic kick plate that is fixed to the centre tunnel. Mine came off quite easily but with a dim pull starting towards the back of the car.
3 the filter is behind the small access door which is secured with 2 self tapping screws and are a bast…d to get out as you are working blind with the top screw. I’ve show a photo of the panel.
4 remove the filter. These are jammed into the aperture so you have to work it out of the hole and fitting the new one is also awkward as you have to squeeze the filter in. Some Reno cars have the same problem if you look on YouTube.
5 Refit the 2 screws.
6 Replace the kick panel and fuse cover. I put a bit of Vaseline onto all of the plastic fixings to make it easier to fit and remove next time but don’t make a mess!

It looks a horrible job, having to be wriggling around the footwell to get access.
Just for info........This may be the other end of the filter housing on a UK/rhd car? No access to filter from right/ driver side footwell.
As shown so well above, Obviously need to approach from left side, passenger footwell on UK vehicle.

Now looked in the passenger footwell and can see what Andy has described and pictured.
Only difference is mine is missing the screws. Presumably the last dealer technician changing the filter got so fed up they just clicked the cover in place.
Much easier job now for me....
