Cant get it to work ie I cant add my VIN or car reg as it just keeps coming up with an error.
Tried removing and re-insralling but no good. Weird thing is that it was working but then decided to remove my car.
I know its not super useful in so far it seems to only shows what your car has got and the guides.
Anyone found any better features?

I haven't found anything more useful just yet but I am getting some help from the dealer as it's not connecting properly at the moment. I will report back if I find anything useful once it starts working properly.

You can search for destinations in the map and then send them to the car so the sat Nav automatically begins navigation when you get in. It’s not always immediate when you get in the car though.

I think it was approximately two weeks ago when Alpine sent an email that the Alpine app would be unavailable for a while due to them making some updates. Later they sent a new email to inform that the app is again available and you have to log in again. I did that and I didn't have any issues logging in again.

I haven't found much useful stuff in the app. Basically it just has the user guides and basic information on what equipment your car has.

I'm talking about the app called "Alpine". There is also an app called "Alpine MySPIN" on the Google Play store which I assume is for the pre-2022 cars with MySPIN on the infotainment.

I also think that there might be some kind of third Alpine app which has been mentioned on some other thread here but that doesn't seem to be available to me.

It took a few weeks before the AP would take the details of my car. I assume this is because it was new and the car needed to be recorded in some way once it was sold.

That said, as above I've found little of any use in the AP and not opened it again since the day it worked.

There maybe some confusion... On my iphone there on two apps:

ALPINE (in caps) - has links to the marketing website including the configurator. You can put your VIN in and it will tell you details of your car - specification and options etc.)

MyAlpine (distinguished by a tricolour bar in the icon) - Again details of you car via the VIN, but also shows current milage, service schedule, when the various bits of traffic info etc need renewing and usefully, a map showing where your car is. It's this app that you can use to send a destination to the car.

Not sure if the 'Droid apps are the same, but I would suppose so.

Yes, the different apps are a bit confusing. The "ALPINE" app which you mentioned (and the name is indeed in caps) is the one which I was also referring to. I don't have the "MyAlpine" app available on Google Play store at all. I'm not sure if it is only available to Apple devices or perhaps it's not available to me since I'm located on a country where Alpine doesn't have any presence (Finland)? Or perhaps some other reason?

Does anyone with Android device have this "MyAlpine" app?

Yes, I do. I have my car registered on it, won't accept my actual reg number (but then neither does the dealership, who messed up the registration and refer to it by the reg it was allocated, not my private plate). I need to add the car's current mileage, but other than guides can find nothing useful on there. But then I'm a bit of a Luddite.

I think thats the ALPINE app, rather than the MyAlpine app. I've not ever told the MyAlpine app my milage, it communicates with the car and is up to date every time I look at it. Screen shot:

Ah many thanks. So far I‘ve only known the ALPINE app, which is not of much use. Switched to the MyAlpine App now which at least has some functionality.

No, it's MyAlpine, but running on a) an android and b) with a pre-car play/apple play car. I can find little of genuine use on it.

TBH the later version is not really all that useful!

I used the app before the update, but it now won’t let me add my car. I’m talking My Alpine app on iPhone.

It says the VIN is invalid. Mine starts VFA… and it seems to think it should start VF1…

Anyone else had such a problem, and even better sorted it?

I noticed the app (on iPhone) had stopped updating the car location on the map, and also the mileage. I’ve deleted the car from the app, and also deleted the app and reinstalled but now when attempting to sync with the car and requesting a code, a message on the app states ‘Error- the code cannot be sent’.
The app is pretty useless if the car isn’t synced.

Did you at least manage to add the car back? Does the VIN begin VF1?

I think mine is VFA too. It added the car but when requesting the code to sync, the app just says a code cannot be sent. Then you have to wait five minutes before requesting another.
