Hello

I'm an Alpine newbie looking to buy a car. If I order new, am I likely to be able to get any discount? The dealer I spoke to (Martins) said no.

And if I bought a demonstrator, what sort of discount off list should I expect? Renault Cardiff have their demonstrator up for sale at what looks to be £5k off.

Thanks in advance for replies.

Hi David

I collect my new A110 just over a week ago

I did consider a used car but found they were holding there money so well a new car made more sense.

I didn’t get any discount but took advantage of the finance offer which was 7.9% APR and also got a years servicing for free as well.

Ex Demo cars can be a good buy as dealers do like to spec them quite well.

Good luck in your search

Regards

Tim

The most likely scenario for a very small discount is for a stock (or due soon) not factory order car - it can be worth once you know what you want to call each dealer to ask what they have or have coming to see if anything might work and get you into a car nine months before a factory order

I also was looking for a used car and ended up with a dealer stock new car instead which was my ideal spec plus a few options.

Agree, nothing off a new order, but there are a couple at 2022 pricing still about, which is what mine was. The other new one at 2022 pricing is still available, same spec as mine except Mine also has the big brakes.

12 - 18 month old cars versus 2022 pricing if you can find one just wasn’t worth it IMHO. Even a legende I was looking at which was approaching 3 years old only saved about £8k over the one I bought which actually had a bigger spec (and the new ICE system).

The dealers I spoke to were willing to change the spec of one of their pre orders. Should be able to get a factory order within a couple of months done this way.

Thanks Colin.

Would you mind dropping me a DM with a link to where I can find the other 2022 priced stock car?

Thanks

David

Sent, although of course all rather depends on your required spec. Lucky for me the 2 cars pretty much nailed what I wanted.

One of the reasons for the great residuals is that Alpine have avoided the temptation to discount, which when you think about who owns them is very unusual. I am glad they've held the line on that to maintain exclusivity rather than chase down volume and market share as all it would do is destroy the brand value. Good for them emulating Porsche in that respect, as the product is more than worth it.

I think it’s more that most of the dealers are owned by RRG, ie Renault, so the dealers are largely not competing with each other, which is why you can usually get something off a new car.

I got an ex demo GT from solihull in march. For having done 1250 miles and been registered for 4 months I got £6k off. I was struggling to find any sort of discount off anything new. That said there are so few dealers you can call them all and see what they have in stock, you may get a bit off, but don’t expect much in my experience.

Is that £6K off the 2023 prices (which have just tweaked up again by another c£500), or £6K off the 2022 prices?

Most seem to be around £5/6K off a factory order, but the original price of those cars would have been c£3K lower.

My new but stock car was c£3.5K lower than a factory order now, but was full 2022 price.

Thanks for all the replies - very helpful.

I've just put a deposit down on a demonstrator that was registered end of April. I will get it beginning of July. Just over £5k off list.

Going into my garage alongside an Elise S3, so will be interesting to see how the two stack up and which gets used more often :-)

I've an Elise too (S1 now but S3 previously) and the Alpine gets used way more.

Mine is effectively replacing an Evora. I'm used to having this sort of thing as a daily and am expecting it to be as usable if not more so than the Evora.

Roll on Wednesday next week....
