In the last week while driving, two people have commented that when I am indicating left or right, the front sidelight (smaller lower one) on the same side turns off, so only 3 rings appear lit.

This only seems to happen when in the auto light mode and in daylight driving conditions but not if I manually switch to sidelight or main beam.

I am assuming this is a clever design feature to ensure indicators are clearly visible during the day, rather than having a wiring problem!

Can someone please put me out of my misery and check if this is the case during daylight conditions.

Thanks

Mine is same and I think it’s normal.

Other cars dim the same side single day running light. I guess one of ours goes off completely as (unusually) we have two on each side.

“They all do that sir”
As said above it reduces distraction around the
Indicator- wish all manufacturers did that (some do)- some of their indicators are hardly visible.

Thanks for the reassurance that all is well.

Reminded me a little bit of the Jasper Carrot sketch (for the older generation among us) of pointing at Volvo drivers to tell them that they had left their sidelights on. It was funny at time!
