Im just looking through the configurator on the website. Am I understanding correctly that the storage pack at £500 consists of a flappy topped triangular box between the seats ??

Yes. Don't bother. There are some side storage boxes you can get that are both better and cheaper. Scroll down this page

I’ve been using one of these for the past few years. Should be available from any alpine dealer for about £80
It velcroes to the bulkhead (don’t know if that might be an issue on the newer cars as I know they changed the “carpeting” later)

How do we find out about Alpine products without scrolling through the French site? Does Alpine UK have an accessories site? My local dealership (Glyn Hopkin, St Albans) has a spares and accessories site, but even having added my car's VIN details etc. I can't get on it, and what I can see is very limited.

Another snag with the storage box (apart from the ridiculous price) is that it makes access to the space behind the seats (which is not that easy anyway) needlessly hard.

Some cars seem to have a net on the rear bulkhead

That comes with the storage pack option. But (carpet permitting) you can get the same thing on eBay for a pittance.

Picked up my Premiere Edition today and was delighted to see that this option comes with the car as well as two cargo nets behind the seats. I missed it when I was looking over the car!

I am struggling to understand how a floppy bag can cost £500 though!,,

As mentioned by folks above; it's not worth optioning for the storage box (plus fixed cargo net) - not only for the crazy cost but also you need to be a contortionist to be able to access its contents. And by keeping that rear bulkhead area free, you're able to handily place other soft items on top of the rear storage console unit such as handbags, small backpacks, or small summer jackets, etc.

I wasn't aware of the above accessory which M- Git mentions - I'll add it to the storage thread.

Q: anyone aware of any velco-backed products which DO stick to the interior carpet? As mentioned, since end 2020 / begin 2021 the cars were given a different / so called improved carpet material. The downside is: none of the previous Alpine storage cases or Amazon cargo nets "stick" to the newer carpet - which is a real PITA!

I have the storage pack and dont mind it - I dont find myself missing a glovebox in the way I thought I would. Tho does feel like a bit of a stretch for the price.
