Thinking of purchasing a new Alpine A110 (pending results of test drive) but was wondering if there is any wiggle room on RRP prices from dealers for a brand new build?

When I asked in November it was a polite but firm no.

You might ask though if they have any pre-order slots placed prior to the January price rise. That was £2K on the base A110.

Where are you? FWIW I’m using Martins Winchester, and although the car isn’t with me yet, so far the experience has been good. They had pre-order slots that could be reconfigured when I placed my order. No idea if they or any other dealers will have any slots ordered pre-Jan left, but worth asking.

Lots of buyers talk to many dealers as they have different allocations and therefore different possibilities - one might even have a car with most of preferred your spec coming through and offer a slight discount so it doesn't sit on their showroom floor

And just think of the long drive home as an ideal bonding opportunity !

I have heard that this Renault group policy to sell ex demonstrator cars at a useful discount - might be worth checking if you would be happy with a slightly used car.

I’d never feel comfortable with an ex-dem that’s been ragged from 5 miles on the clock.

My take too - but I thought it worth a mention. I believe legless bought his that way and (I think) he's been happy with his.

My car is ex-demo from Orpington, I got it with 700 miles on the clock.

No issues with condition etc.

RRP was £57ish with the Atelier paint, got it for a bit less than the price of a standard one without the paint.

Mine ex demo too and problem free mechanically. Good thing about the demo cars is they have pretty much every option box ticked. Mine had £8k of extras 😁

Also bought a ex demo with now ~5000 troublefree kilometers on it. Didn’t want to wait 12 months and the demo car hd all the features i wanted. Also i got a deal including 5 years guarantee and maintenance, so i couldn’t say no.

Well, perhaps goes to show that modern engines are far better built to good tolerances than they were back in the day!

Yup, I bought mine ex demo and in the year since then I've put 23k miles on it trouble free (touch wood).

It's not a particularly highly stressed engine, I really wouldn't let an ex-demo car put you off. As for discounts, I highly doubt you'll get much beyond something token like a couple of free services or similar.

Well the test drive went very well at the dealership and we both loved the car.

So did some man maths and although our preferred colour is Fire Orange we came to the conclusion that getting a lightly used pure with all the stuff we want makes more sense.

As I had already browsed the classified we were ready to make the call to buy an Alpine today, looked at my saved Autotrader ad and it indicated "Under offer".

Phone call to the dealership and Alpine salesperson was not in but the other sales person thought it had been sold frown

So waiting for a call on Monday to confirm its 100% the case.
