So last weekend there was an OTA software update for the MY22 and onwards infotainment system.
Any info on what has changed?

I realized there is a new area on the top of the screen with the blue frame around it that leads you to the "connected devices" screen. It's the same shape and size that shows up when I connect the phone via USB to the car for Car Play.
Was hoping for wireless CarPlay, but that does not seem to be the case.

Does anybody have any information on the content of the update?

Mine updated too but I’ve not noticed any difference. It hasn’t fixed the radio amnesia problem where it forgets the station you were last listening to.

I use one of these for wireless car play, they work great:

Ah awesome, I'll check it out.

Is the connection stable and is response time fast with it?

Might get one of those. I don’t have the car yet… are the only USB ports in the centre console area?

Yes stable and good response. I've used for a couple of years in a VW and now Alpine and very happy
Yes two USB under the central spine.

Question for valvegear: I'd seen this product before but the video mentioned it was for cars with CarPlay - ie. Alpines MY2022 onwards (I think). Mine's MY2019, so I'd assumed it won't work in mine?

This won't add CarPlay - it merely makes it wireless so no need to plug your phone in to connect.

Thanks for confirming that, 595Heaven, you've confirmed my initial suspicions(!) but as you say, it's better than all that cable floating around from the phone to the socket, so it looks like I'll press the buy button!

That’s right it won’t work in your 2019 car. You need a MY2022 onwards which already has the wired CarPlay installed.
