Had this appear in the RPM window along with "STOP" in the centre of the cluster.
https://flic.kr/p/2o5XTdo
Tim suggested battery low voltage, I checked it and it gave a reading of 11.8v. After an overnight charge it still only read 12.2v and after starting the engine went back down to 11.7v. with still the same fault warning.
I bought a new battery but still the same fault showing after a full charge😢.
The car had a replacement alternator in November under warranty along with it's 4 year service.
I have checked and topped -up the brake fluid reservoir, just in case🤔, the car drives and stops as per normal, ABS works fine but no cruise control and cannot change the left centre window in the RPM section to show large RPM, radio station etc.
All Renault garages are chocka blocked, so I am hoping Floyd, formerly of Four Ashes will be my saviour tomorrow🤞.

Had a similar error message - eventually a hydraulic pump was replaced which fixed it.

Any idea what hydraulic pump?
Just might be a heads-up for Floyd to check tomorrow.
Thanks

That's just what the mechanic said. Not sure how many there are - but I guess the ABS, handbrake and traction control must use one. Initially they just reset the error. It recurred very quickly - but not immediately. The brakes felt fine - but I didn't check whether ABS was working. At the third attempt they got authorisation to replace the pump and it's be fine ever since - at least a couple of years.

Thanks for the reply. The ABS works fine, checked that first, likewise the handbrake but I think that's electric motors. I'll keep my🤞 it's a simple fix but not holding out much hope.

in rs megane forum the error is due to
low brake fluid.

either a leak or pads get thinner and fluid
level drops. check brake fluid reservoir level
but you checked that.

might be bad sensor in brake system.
or if your voltage measuring is correct something there is wrong it should be charging battery and higher than 12v when engine is running..

Floyd is a very good guy, takes pride in his work, and I would very much recommend him, (and I don’t recommend many)
For other that May look and have this , There is a potential abs software update for this issue, and also possible brake caliper issues. (Electric motor issue) .

Interesting to hear, they are reasonably local to me. I am in two minds as to whether to go independent.
I am only sticking with Alpine servicing at the moment as they appear to be repairing older cars with alternator and fuel pump issues out of warranty, also I am having paint rectified under warranty and that is only covered if its inspected annually.

Good reason to stick with main dealers for the moment.

Think I was lucky having my alternator replaced under warranty; my car was registered 12/11/2018 and it went 26th Oct.
I purchased it at the end of November 2021 and collected the car 1/12/2021 with just under 3K miles.
I presume it will now be out of warranty and it's just turned 10K miles.

How on earth does the ABS software flash get corrupted??

I don't know - but, given that the firmware driving the fault displays seems to have a mind of its own on occasion, it wouldn't surprize me that some bug could cause it to happen.

When I had the error the fix was an update to the the ABS software. I’m guessing it’s a bug in the older abs software that isn’t fixed during a service.
