Can you retro fit the Alcantara steering wheel, and if so has anyone done it?

I tried to order one through my dealer, they were able to get the part number (6020018977) but couldn't order it

Do you know whether Royal add the retrim on top of the existing material or take the original material off to maintain the same thickness (or even make thinner if desired)?

Remove and replace. You can't trim over the top (without making a balls-up of it)

Thanks for sharing your experience with them. I have heard good things about them previously too. It looks like a much more feasible option than getting hold of an OEM Dinamica steering wheel.

The OEM 'leather' (is it real leather?) steering wheel has an unpleasant plasticky feeling when new that improves with use.
