Thought I'd make a thread about this issue, it's happened to me 3 times now, and to a few others.

Engine cuts out whilst driving, won't restart. "Engine failure hazard" and "Check injection" on dash.

No particular pattern to the breakdowns - 1st time was accelerating out of roundabouts on an A-road, low fuel; 2nd time crawling on a motorway, 2/3 tank of fuel; 3rd time driving through a town centre, low fuel.

  • 1st time I thought I just ran out of fuel, so I walked to a petrol station to get a few litres, fueled the car back up, and after 40 minutes it started up.
  • 2nd time called RAC, they arrived after about an hour, got in the car and it started up.
  • 3rd time I waited 30 minutes before calling RAC, kept cranking over but no fuel. Tried booster packs & refueling after 2 hours when first RAC arrived, nothing. 9.5 hours after initially breaking down, it randomly started back up on a booster pack. Died after about 8 minutes, won't restart (luckily on a flatbed at this point).
OBD shows "fuel pump regulator" so there's no fuel getting to the engine (makes sense to me).

My car has been left with Solihull so hopefully it's an easy fix, will try to keep things updated.

Other helpful information if anyone breaks down!

0333 202 3005 is Renault's RAC number.

To put the car into neutral: shut doors, turn ignition on, press neutral. Won't work if doors are open.
