I am very disappointed that you cannot get any official technical information on the A110. The website just seems to be glossy feel good fluff. There is a "technical" section which is laughably basic. Where to stick your oil and water

I've just had a reply from Dieppe which says that a Factory Service Manual is not available ! Basically what they are saying is that any work you need doing on the car will have to through their workshop. You do not even get the privilege of knowing how the car is screwed together. Alpine clearly want to keep everything in house. Even if that house is miles away from where you live.

I recognise that many owners will not worry about this. They pay strong money for the car and will be happy to follow the strict factory procedure for maintenance/fixing. However, many who like cars like the spannering that goes with them. It seems that if your Alpine goes wrong all you can do is slavishly cart it off to their workshop.

Hopefully the emerging Alpine community can start rectifying this by getting some technical stuff up on youtube and the like as time goes by. I am close to buying an A110 but have found this lack of info and remote servicing a stumbling block.

Are my comments unreasonable or fair ?

I would think that only a very small minority of owners are inclined to personally do service or repair work on a new car like the Alpine (or any other current sportscar). They may lack the space to do so, the knowledge, the specialist tools, or the time...

And the very few who really want to take their A110 to pieces or repair it at home should be able to figure out how it works without the manual.

So, I can understand the Alpine policy. It would certainly not let me reconsider the purchase decision smile

I tend to agree with the op.
As the cars get older there will be more and more owners wanting to work on them. Renault will have official parts catalogues and diagrams for the car that they provide to the dealers and that would be very useful to somehow get a copy, and then absolutely they will have some kind of workshop manual again for the dealers but they wont provide it to you and me.

You can find workshop manuals for the 2020 Megane online, might cover the engine?
