A few questions on temperature for those with telematics.
Discussion
Hi all.
I know having access to data is a double-edged sword, but I wondered what intake temperatures you see when driving around normally? By that I mean wait for it to come up to temp (oil, coolant etc.) and enjoy the car on my way somewhere. It will start off at a few degrees above ambient. Once I let it sit for 20 mins or so while I’m in the shops or whatever, come back and see the heat soaked intake temperatures sit around the 50-60° mark until I hit the open road again. Stop start through Guildford this is pretty typical on a hot day. They do eventually recover to 5-10° above ambient. Is this an air-to-water charge cooler?
The other one is EDC clutch temp. Is it normal for the temperature to rise by a few degrees (or more with beans) when “in gear” - accelerate in 5th from 50 or so and there is a rise in temps here too. Doesn’t feel like slippage due to engine map but it also made me wonder why it does that.
Thanks all for your greater knowledge than I!

I can't claim to have true knowledge, but I might speculate. Presumably, since the clutches are wet, they will rise in temperature as the gearbox oil does, which will rise as you give it more beans. I expect you are right about the intake temperature variation - there is a lot of heat soak in the engine compartment despite the fans running for a while after switching off.
