Extended Warranty options

I’m considering to extend the warranty to either 5 or 6 years. 4 year option also possible. Essentially, the extended warranty would be for mechanical coverage as the body is covered separately with a 12 year guarantee.
Before deciding which route to go - and l have a few weeks to get the discount within 12 months registration - l’d be interested to hear what other owner’s have chosen, or why they decided not to extend. I intend to keep the car - but you can never be 100% sure - but an extended warranty would be an additional USP if selling on l would reckon.
