Cardiff dealer
Discussion
Has anyone had any dealings with the 'new' dealer in Cardiff? I eventually managed to speak with a salesman after being transferred around the phone system and I said I was interested in upgrading to a new one from by nearly 3 year old Pure with 4250 miles on it. Asked for a list of stock and what deal he can do and that was 2 weeks ago................
Following on from my disappointing 1st visit, I noticed some hairline surface crazing on both headlamp lenses about a week short of 3 years. Took the car into Alpine Cardiff and they got there Chief Technician to look at it. He took photos and said he would order 2 replacements and sure enough they called to make an appointment to fit them about 6 weeks later. They estimated 3 hours to fit them but it took them over 6 but they did keep me informed of the delay and offered endless cups of coffee when I arrived 'early' to pick it up. They did find time to wash the outside before they would let me drive away. Couldn't really fault the service this time! As an aside there was a guy there having a service at his 'local dealer' and had travelled over from Ireland on the ferry - be thankful for small mercies!

I wonder if you had the same issue as me and a couple of other owners. My headlight is more like blistering under the surface. Alpine Cambridge have approved replacement under warranty and I am having new light fitted mid Jan. There is is thread on here about it. Be interested if yours was the same damage from my photo (see thread)I went in to the Cardiff dealership in June, on a Saturday afternoon. There were no staff in the showroom. I waited...
I found a Renault salesman eating his lunch in the Alpine office, so asked if I could speak to an Alpine salesperson. He looked miffed that I'd interrupted his sarny, but went off to find someone.
A few minutes later he came back and said that the Alpine sales manager was busy doing paperwork and would see me as soon as he had finished. Hmm.
5 minutes later, he strolled up, big smile, shook hands. I said I was interested in a used car. His face dropped, he turned, pointed across the courtyard and said 'used sales is over there', and left.
Needless to say, I didn't bother, left promptly, and have no intention of going back (other than to get my car serviced, which I obviously bought elsewhere )

Pretty much what I would have expected.......I found a Renault salesman eating his lunch in the Alpine office, so asked if I could speak to an Alpine salesperson. He looked miffed that I'd interrupted his sarny, but went off to find someone.

Vast majority of Alpine Centers aren't interested in used, to buy or to sell that is.
I bought a new GT in Abyss blue from a dealer around London in March 2023, 900 miles on the clock now. I want to sell it to buy a SR 1973, the bids are extremely disappointing.
Not sure how they expect to have repeat customers if they don't support those who bought new from them. Particularly nearly new cars.
Other brands do a much better job.

Found the same when i sold mine rang every Alpine dealer in the UK with only one making a offer and that was ridiculously low, sold it for a decent price on Autotrader just over 12 months ago there's alot more A110s advertised now though.
