New Alpine Market

There are many 2022 Alpines specced by dealers looking to find homes in the next couple of months. Still many 2021 cars for sale and demonstrators sticking. 63 new and used cars on Autotrader (and increasing) which is massive in relation to the number of annual registrations.

Cars to order are available in much quicker than before.

Many other brands have no new cars available for many months and some not until 2023.

Seems like supply is far outstripping demand at the moment or am I missing something?

Two new dealerships have opened/are about to open which would suggest they anticipate more demand.

63 cars isn’t many in the grand scheme of things - yes, it’s a niche vehicle but they could be sold on a good weekend

Brexit and new models have led to price rises which has further supported used values.

Agree on used but 38 are brand new. Seems way too high. Were there not only around 200 new cars registered in 2021 including dealer demonstrators?

This has been mentioned before and it has been suggested that a lot of the new cars that are "available" are actually just pre-orders and aren't really in showrooms. Has anyone been quoted less than about 6 months for a bespoke order?

So there are approximately 4 new cars per dealer awaiting a home before the 2022 models arrive?

I think the 2022 “aero” models are expected in dealers mid February. I’d expect any unsold current stock will be used as demo cars and then sold as used.

All the 2021 cars are in the showroom and available.

Yes. Ordered on Nov 13th and was quoted March delivery

To qualify my comment on demos it appears that one has been sold at Orpington as it has been removed from Autotrader since my post.

Some will doubtless have placed a deposit on an Emira and are waiting to see if it lives up to the hype, and how the delivery times are panning out. Without question it will take some sales from the A110, but it remains to be seen quite how many.

I'm not expecting my AMG Emira until the end of the year/ early next year even though i'm relatively high up the queue i believe.
So i just bought the White S Demo from Orpington to tide me over for the year.
I could end up postponing the Emira if the Alpine is as good as i think it will be for me as a weekend toy.
