So had my car since April and have just noticed the leather on both driver and passenger seat bases have stretched.
The leather seems to have come away from the seat base and is now standing proud.

I realise leather should crease and stretch but I have not had this issue happen on my last 3 cars with leather seats.
Has this happened to anyone else? These are the heated seats so could this be causing the problem?

The car is going in for a service in January, so will raise the issue then but if it is a more common problem might be easier to get resolved.

Or am I being too fussy?!

Hi Martyn,

How did this one pan out for you?

My driver seat is starting to do this after a couple of weeks from new.. Passenger seat OK but hasn't really been used yet. I have protected the seats with Gtechniq L1, which seems like good stuff, but not sure if it will help this particular problem...

Actually the seat has sorted itself out, I presume all the seat leather has now stretched and settled down, so now looks perfectly fine.
Martin's at Winchester did take a look during 1st service and assured me all was OK (which it turned out was correct!).

For "comfort" seats I actually find them very uncomfortable. The material they have used is very stiff.

I spend 2-3 hours a day in mine and find them extremely comfortable! The 'leather' took a bit of time to loosen up and went through a period of looking a bit distorted, but all seems to have settled now.

The buckets are definitely softer on your bum.

I think one day I'm going to buy some bucket seats for my car.

I have the tan interior so I plan to get them re-trimmed in tan to have a unique Alpine.
