I've had the misfortune of going to start the car and finding the "brake system error" warning on the dash.
I've put the car on trickle charge and waiting to see the result - the car is normally on a trickle charger but hasn't been this last week.

I called Alpine Assist which is handled by the RAC - only to be told I'm not covered. I explained I had an extended warranty but this was to no avail.

I spoke to supplying dealer through whom I purchased the extended Alpine warranty and he believed there was no roadside assistance either...

Google Alpine Extended Warranty and it clearly states :
Subscription to the Alpine warranty extension allows you
to benefit from the same conditions as the manufacturer’s
warranty on:
? The «Mechanical Breakdown» which covers the repair
of the vehicle - parts and labour, 24-hour assistance...
? Assistance that covers services such as on-site
breakdown assistance, towing, repatriation home,
accommodation, replacement vehicle or continuation
of the trip.

With Alpine warranty extensions, you can enjoy complete
serenity:
? A simple, fast and efficient handling
? A better residual value in the event of resale of your
Alpine, the extended warranty being transferable upon
resale
? The know-how and expertise of our Alpine technicians,
who are regularly trained from diagnosis to the repair
of your Alpine
? Coverage throughout the European Union by taking care
of your repairs wherever you are.

If anyone is interested I'll keep you updated. Am I the only one thinking this is unacceptable?

edited to add - when I took out the warranty there was no documentation available - it was a bit of a saga getting an extended warranty but I managed it in the end. This online documentation has become available afterwards.

Doesn't sound right to me and hope you get it sorted. FWIW, when I have extended the warranty with other manufacturers, the extension has come with roadside assist.

By strange coincidence, i have just taken up an extension.

Was made very clear to me that Roadside Recovery is NOT included (however unusual that may be). Not a practical issue for me as I have other Recovery cover, but agree its stingy.

I asked for a policy t&c sheet before accepting, which was provided by dealer, and was sent a Policy Document for my car within minutes of paying for policy.
FYI: All done via Winchester, who supplied the car (used).

A page from document helpfully provided by Winchester:

To continue.......I agree the website is hopeless for this.

I also had an email exchange with Alpine customer HQ (in France i guess?), who outlined details of a scheme with completely different t&c, timings and prices, including the extension only being available in first 12 months of ownership....this has been mentioned on here before i think?

However they said contact a Dealer in your country for details. For once, that seems to be helpful advice laughlaugh

Did anyone get a definitive answer on this topic. I’ve just paid for three years extended warranty and asked the question about whether roadside assist is included as the scant paperwork provided by Alpine isn’t clear.
The dealer googled the question and sent me a copy of an Alpine finance brochure which states it is included.
Dealer in question is Winchester, who seem to have provided the opposite advice in the past.
Hence trying to get to the bottom of this rather than finding out when (if) something happens. I

No- never got to the bottom of it. Still waiting for warranty paperwork - nearly a year later…
I’ll be keen to hear any update you might get

Tried Renault customer care today. They don’t deal with the Alpine extended warranty, and proceeded to give me the phone number for Alpine radios.
I’ve got an Alpine leaflet that confirms we are covered.
But the only way to make absolutely sure is to ring the number on the windscreen and see what they say.
Car is being detailed at the moment, so can’t do anything until tomorrow.
By the way, the detailer sent me a video of blocked drains at the back of the car which he then cleaned out. Looks similar to mx5 arrangement. Something to look out for.

I’m the OP- I started this thread after calling the number on the windscreen only to be told I wasn’t covered.

Alpine need to sort this out - or do they? People are buying the cars despite the poor service from Alpine themselves

Kind of on subject - Having recently had my A110 serviced at the Alpine centre in Bordeaux (South West France), it was made very clear to me that the service included a years worth of Alpine Assist. I was pleasantly surprised.
Do Alpine UK not do similar ?
