Ah ha! Thank you! It was again time to get my Alpine serviced in the beginning of May 2024 and that meant another road trip to Europe. The plan was to take a ferry from Helsinki to Travemünde and then continue to Netherlands with planned stops in Den Bosch and Breda. Then short drive from Breda to Antwerp to Alpine Antwerpen. Once the car would be serviced, then plan was to drive to Northern Netherlands to Groningen. Then from Groningen to Hamburg and from there back to Travemünde. It was altogether 8 day trip and 1,700 km of driving.

We finally arrived in St Malo for the ferry, where a grinning face at the guichet said "Ah, a Renault!", all in good humour and with a twinkle in his eye. He probably enjoys winding up English drivers, I thought. Then to security , who asked us to pop the frunk and made appreciative comments about the car. Finally, on entering the car deck we were signalled to one side and escorted -it's the only word- to the front of the lower deck, right by the bow door. We will be first off. All part of the experience of travelling en Alpine in France: small boys call out, pedestrians gather, other drivers wave. Despite the challenges, a good trip: a very, very good trip.

Four weeks until we're off. Scotland - Annecy - Uzes - Scotland, over 3 weeks, with a week in each intermediate location.
I love the route planning and journey as much as sitting by the pool and enjoying the sunshine.
A night in Beaune on the way, then when in Annecy taking in the TdF that passes nearby one day, pop into Switzerland for the Montreux Jazz Festival, mooch around the lower alps, down the N85 past Gap and across over the top of Mount Ventoux to Uzes, some looking around Avignon, back via Millau Viaduct and a couple of nights in Sancerre.
An A110 adventure of at least 3,000 miles and exactly the sort of trip I bought it for and it was excellent at in 2022. To say I'm excited is an understatement. And yes, all the Cabin Zero bags are sorted to optimise the luggage!

Just back from Galicia, Picos and Pyrenees - then A75 through France and home.
Galicia and Picos were empty so lots of fun to be had if you avoid the main routes - AS345 and AS 260 in particular.
As for the Pyrenees - wow. I took my poor son who put up with endless mountain roads (with little to no traffic) for 2 days. Anyone who does this route simply get on the N260 and stay on it as much as possible to Ripoll (and make sure you do the NS 260 detour as well).
Simply epic and what this fantastic little car was designed for. The bits from Vielha to Baqueira and up and over the top to Sort stunning - Sort to Urtx just as ..and the road from Urtx to Ripoll is one of the best. The speed limit is 60kmh on this bit but it is not an issue. Otherwise speed limits 90 Kmh which is also fine. Next year I am going back and doing it all the other way.
A75 through France motorway but very pretty and direct...we had run out of time.
Couple of pics - one from home in Spain (Beetle is the wife's) and the other in a place called Gerbe in Catalunya
One or two asked about this route - happy to give more detail. And thanks to those who recommended some of the above roads.
Car was faultless - epic on the mountain roads, comfortable on the motorways and fine for pootling around town in "Normal" mode when required. I know they have their faults but they are simply brilliant little cars.
