After my brief ownership on a base spec 2021 Yaris 1.5 Icon Yaris Hybrid.

The 115 spec engine is to be avoided, the 130 is much smoother and quieter,

I'm going to be back in a Toyota.

2025 Corolla 2.0 196hp GR Sport.

Pick it up Friday.

Good choice, I m back in a similar one myself except it s the base icon.

I believe they dropped the horsepower to 175hp through software just to get a lower emissions figure on later cars. Mine is also a 25.

The performance is supposed to be almost identical though at 7.4 seconds to 62mph in both, so likely just the way it shows up on the official test calculation for the combined electric and petrol motors.

I've had a 23 model 2 litre Excel for 6 months. I like it, and it's surprisingly quick and economical. Fortunately I can turn off all the driver aids, and they stay off for subsequent starts!

Take it this is not a standard feature, is it something that's been added to the car or progamming?

I like these. Not driven one but my Mrs has the 1.5 Yaris and that’s pretty good. Although a little small so I’d like a Corolla.

Enjoy op and keep us updated how you get on please.

Not as I'm aware. I think it's 2024 onwards that you can't, that's why I went for a 23.

On the 24+ models it used to be difficult to turn off the speed limit warning/etc. through fiddly menus in the dash.

Now it’s one icon tap on the infotainment screen to turn off the speed warning for each drive.

I'm sure I'll figure out my start up procedure in the end smile

I miss my 2009 Suzuki swift, seat belt on, start car, 1st gear off you go.

Car collected.

Its an easy thing to drive, the tech is quite good, better calibrated than my father MG ZS hybrid.

Getting used to having a low slung car again = they CAN corner in a way non of these softroader SVU's can't.

Also mine being a Jan 2025 car and not the mild the Feb 2025 update, not only is this a 196hp version, I don't have the infrared driver attention camera's smile

Download the MyToyota app, and connect it to the car. Gives you lots of information about the car and your driving etc.

It also gives you points for hybrid driving efficiency. See if you can beat 138mpg, which was my best in the Corolla - albeit the 1.8.
