Lexus RX450h (MK3) ride quality?
Discussion
Am considering a MK3 Lexus RX450H, however I’ve heard varying reports on ride quality. Some saying it’s great on open road but bad/slow/potholed roads not so good?
If not great, how does it compare to an average car though? I.e. poor for a Lexus but good for a typical car?
Am also considering a MK4 however insurance is quite a lot (double the MK3!!!), but I understand ride is a lot better? My other option is Volvo V90 but although ride is supposedly great, they lack a bit in the engine side of things apparently….

I got a RX400h and a phase 4 RX450h, so not quite what you are looking for.
The 400h suspension is not air, they did not do that on the hybrid. Its a bit wallows on bends at speed but soaks up bumps well.
The 450h is air suspension, goes around bends better in Sport mode, but you do feel the bumps even in the softer setting. It does have 20" wheels though. I think then it is a compromise.
Both cars are smooth and quiet. Bar roads show up, but no worse than other cars really.
