Has anyone here upgraded their Toyota IQ horn to something that sounds a bit more meaningful than the fanny fart that the car comes with?

I have tried buying a two tone and fitted it with a replay, but the car does not seem to like it. I've tried a couple of variations of wiring it and it's not having it.

Any suggestions/tips for those that have successfully done this?

Thanks in advance.

Can't help you but I wouldn't try looking at other Toyotas for a beefier horn, the one in my Hilux is equally comical. That being said, I use it so infrequently it's never really bothered me.

GR Yaris likely has the same horn. I replaced it with a PIAA twin horn. They don't pull huge amps so don't need a relay. It sounds like an angry Japanese taxi. Loudish, as it is a twin tone, but not like the European twin tones which pull huge current and startle pedestrians.

What did you end up going with in the end? Need something beefier too..ideally like a truck to scare the sh*t out of drivers who take the mick
