Mk3 Mr2 Tyres?
Discussion
Just bought a cheap Mr2 for a bit of tinkering and top down fun.
Currently got 4 mismatched tyres which I'm looking to replace prior to geo.
It's got staggered team dynamic monza r (I think) which should fit the standard 185/55/15 and 205/50/16.
Any suggestions?
I was thinking toyo t1r but have read they can lose some of the steering feel due to soft sidewalls.
Any ideas?
Preferably sub £300.

Quite a limited selection available now in the standard facelift sizes, if you want 4 matching (which you do!).
Yoko AD08's are the favoured tyre on a lot of the forums, but you're looking at over 100 a tyre from Camskill, before fitting.
I'm on Uniroyal Rainsport 3's at the moment, with the XL on the rear for extra tyrewall stiffness. They were less than 300 iirc, Camskill again. They're very good, better than a T1R certainly.
ETA - I went for 195 on the front, for a little extra grip. Doesn't seem to have affected the balance too much, still quite benign for a mid-engined car.

I've had Toyo Proxes TR1s on mine since I bought it 6 or 7 years ago, and don't have any complaints at all.
Used as a daily all year round, alternating with a Celica, for a 30 mile round trip commute on B roads and country lanes. Also used for several years at the start of my ownership for bi-weekly 125 mile trips (mostly motorway).
