Lexus Covid 19
Discussion
Hi all
Just some info for anyone looking for what happens in the event of delayed servicing on Lexus,
I'd Been having some trouble understanding the effect of a delayed service on the Lexus warranty since the dealers have been closed, So messaged Lexus customer service who came back with:
For the foreseeable future Lexus will take a sympathetic approach to warranty issues arising from delayed service during this pandemic,
this is a bit vague so I asked if for example I miss service date what would Lexus do exactly presumably as the official Lexus warranty (approved used) is administered by a 3rd party and would likely rely on an updated service schedule from Lexus, response:
As advised we will take a sympathetic approach, although the warranty is administered by a 3rd party it is underwritten by Lexus UK
Fair enough just to be sure I emailed the warranty administrator and here is what they came back with:
The Lexus warranty does require you to a service according to the vehicle service schedule to maintain your warranty, however in light of the pandemic we have introduced a 60 day / 3000 mile leeway whichever comes first
So there it is a little clarity hope this is of some help to someone

In similar circumstances Porsche GB clarified that they would look sympathetically at warranty claims that might be a result of delayed servicing, but ONLY if you had written proof that you had tried to get your car serviced as per the normal schedule.
I guess this prevents people who had no intention of getting a car serviced on schedule receiving the same goodwill?

I’ve for the extended Lexus warranty and you are correct that they have give 60 days 3k miles, also I was given an extra 3 months warranty FOC. I’ve already renewed mine and it won’t be in place until the free 3 months are over, also got 2 free mot’s with the new warranty, as the mot has also been extended I’ll wait until new warranty is in force and do the mot then.Just some info for anyone looking for what happens in the event of delayed servicing on Lexus,

What was interesting that I enquired about the cheaper Lexus essential service as mine has just turned 5 years old, dealer said it could affect warranty and I need to have the standard one to be sure, I can’t see anywhere in the T&C that Essential servicing is not allowed, just says main dealer or appointed agent. I think the dealer is wrong.

I emailed Lexus about essential service not getting a stamp in the service book they said as long as you can provide evidence such as a receipt that should cover you.
