Hello,

I was wondering if anyone here could offer up some advice regarding a planned upgrade for my 1994 Toyota Carina E. Basically I plan on up-rating the brakes to some rather large discs and calipers, I've spoken to various company's over the last few months, and sadly I don't seem to be getting anywhere.

One of the things I wish to do is change out the rear drums, for rear discs. I've had a few nods of advice, i.e. fit Toyota Avensis rear hubs and handbrake cable, or ones from a Celica, but nobody can offer up anymore specifics than that.

Would anyone know of a person that has done this before, or of a brake company that makes up-rated discs and calipers that offer a "drive in" fitment service, as sadly all of the company's I've asked, have either not replied, or can't help.

Much appreciated.

Speak to Fensport. Have a look at the standard setup on a Carina GTI. Don't know if it's much different, but it was the highest powered Carina on offer at the time, and my memory of them is of having rear discs. A fair bit of Toyota stuff is interchangeable, I would imagine a Celica GT4 front brake setup may make a difference if it could be made to fit.
