Hi - I'm a long time PH-user but have never posted in this group before. My wife drives our 2009 Toyota RAV-4 SR180. It's been the reliable family workhorse over the years but just recently the fan blower has stopped working - completely stopped, not stuck high or low - literally nothing coming out with/without aircon, zilch. It's not just inconvenient but pretty dangerous with the condensation that occurs at this time of year so I need to get it sorted pronto.

The display and buttons appear to be functioning correctly and I've checked associated fuses which are all good. A google search led me to believe that the most common failure in these systems is the heater resistor rather than the blower motor. However, I spoke with Toyota parts over the phone and they think the 2009 RAV-4 has the resistor built into the same unit as the blower pump.... which means it is over 405 quid for the part only!!!

Does anyone have any experience on this or knowledge about whether the resistor can be replaced in isolation? TIA
