05 Toyota Corolla 1.6 petrol Overrev
Discussion
Good Morning
I have noticed on my wifes car (above) that it tends to overrev itself over 120kmph. The rev's seems to jump a little before correcting but no impact is made to the speed of the car when this happens. What could be the cause of this?? It doesnt happen at lower speeds but does happen a little through the gear changes.
Has anyone else experienced this or can shed some light?
Cheers

Questions - What kind of transmission? Can you hear the engine rev up or are you only going by the rev counter?
First thought was some kind of clutch slippage but seems odd at a high speed. Usually noticed when accelerating at each gear change.
Yeah so its a manual. its from the engine mostly. Ill check on the way home now on the stretch I noticed it on. First thought was some kind of clutch slippage but seems odd at a high speed. Usually noticed when accelerating at each gear change.
