Toyota GR Yaris - Official! (Vol 2)
Discussion
My pal picked up a red one from a main dealer last week, 11,000 or so on the clock, he’s having issues with the gearbox.
In his words “takes a shove to get it into 2/3rd”.
Mine is fine, so can’t add a huge amount if insight. Anyone else had similar issues? If so what’s the diagnosis?
He’s had it back in this week, adjusted something, fluid check I think as well, but ok for a morning then back to the same.

Relatively common. Mine had the gear linkage adjusted early in 2021 with few miles but has never been right. In Australia they did quite a few gearbox changes under warranty but Toyota UK have never offered that to people. Another thing could be the lower torque mount as can crack and cause issues relating to changing gear. In his words “takes a shove to get it into 2/3rd”.
