I will be that person. What were people expecting from a 4wd rally homologation?

The whole reason I was interested in the car was because it will stick like st down any surface you throw at it in any weather. You feel the back end sliding about every now and again but you still stay on the road and back in time for tea and medals.

Anyone finding it a bit bland, seriously, check the tyre pressures.

Happy for you to say they're fine and the car's just not for you, but I was amazed at how much difference just 4psi made.

I am hoping a geo tweak will improve it though, I will let you know how that goes
A good geo setup should make the car feel more pointy and alive. I'm interested to hear how you get on as its really important to get this right on AWD cars in my opinion.

Also bear in mind the competence ot the PS4S tyres. You might find something else suits you better by bringing the limits down to within easier reach.

Not everyone is into "modifying" cars but on something like the GR Yaris I am certain many owners would benefit from tweaking things more to their liking.

Agree, I think a slightly ‘lesser’ set of tyres might make it a bit more engaging

2012 - Toyota brings out RWD sports car and, very unconventionally, deliberately fits Prius ditchfinders to give lower grip levels and movement.

People criticise this and fit grippier tyres.

2020 - Toyota brings out 4WD rally car with circuit pack Torsen diffs and super grippy PS4S tyres.

People criticise this and propose fitting ditchfinders.

I’d hate to be a sports car manufacturer, people are s.

I'm not criticising anything. I'll be most likely happily keeping the PS4S when my GRY arrives or even fitting some AR-1's.

Fit what suits your driving style and preferences.

Does anyone know if they then quote you a date? Last I heard it was at least May22, probably further out now I guess, but actually that suits me OK.
I placed an online order around a week ago. You're not quoted a date automatically, but Toyota called me a few days after placing the order and told me ETA was still May 2022.

Thank you. I thought it might have moved on a bit now, but useful to know, many thanks. That actually works for me.

Although the car is due on top gear in the next 3 weeks I’d expect when people see its £30-35k there will be a lot of orders going in Monday morning.

Wil do, when you say check the pressures, you mean to make sure they are at what's recommended? Or are you suggesting changing them to something different again?

I imagine they mean as recommended. Cars are shipped with higher pressures but seems to be missed on PDI.

Walked a slightly different way to pick my son up from school today, and lo and behold I passed a Black GR on the drive of a local house (a good drive... they also have a new i30n).

So of course I had to walk that way back as well, and point out the car to my son (not interested!). Looked great! lick Will walk that way every day now to see if it's there biggrin

Mine were 42psi or thereabouts. They should be a fair bit less than that - around 29psi. Check your manual or the tyre placard inside the door.

I just set mine (cold) to what the sticker says. They were consistently 4psi too high all round. That's verified across two gauges.

My daughter bought a Ford Puma and had exactly the same thing ... we had a160 mile drive home and the tyre pressures were all around 8 PSI too high ... what is included in a PDI ?

32psi front 29psi rear. Mine are set slightly lower to allow for warming up.
