Fastest hot hatches top 10 recap
1. Renault Megane RS Trophy-R - 7:40.1
2. Honda Civic Type R - 7:43.8
3. Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport S - 7:47.2
4. Honda Civic Type R - 7:50.6
5. Renault Megane RS 275 Trophy-R - 7:54.4
6. SEAT Leon Cupra - 7:58.4
7. Ford Focus RS - 8:06.3
8. Renault Megane RS Trophy - 8:08
9. Renault Megane RS R26.R - 8:16.9
10. Ford Focus RS - 8:26
The quickest I’ve seen was a sub 8 BTG with an experienced driver but not a professional driver. The car was also running nangkang semi slicks so not in a spec that will likely be tested once the circuit opens up for timing however that’s probably the difference between experienced driver and professional. I suspect in its circuit pack spec with professional driver a time of 7:45-8:00 is achievable although some long fast sections where it will lose out.
That's implausible - see https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-5py4ESJgY WITH a pro driver. The Yaris is some way off a Type R on a tight and WET track. On a fast a dry track it's going to be quite a lot slower - a type R averages around a 100mph on the Ring - and has quite a big performance advantage at 100mph and over.Fastest hot hatches top 10 recap

This is a great little video demonstrating the difference between the 3 driving modes in standard and circuit pack car (warning: annoying music if you’re over 14):

They should have included a Type-R at the end. Just for giggles.

Anyone who buys this car for ring times has bought the wrong car. Having owned the Trophy-r the GR runs rings around it for day to day driving. The only aspect I miss from the trophy-r is the seats.Ive just listed my car for sale. Hadnt planned to when i got my allocation, but the car is just too capable and for me lacks character. Its only fun when pushing on far too hard for the road, and because of this I find myself driving it far too fast to keep my licence. All this chat about lap times is absolutely irrelevant to how much ‘fun’ the car is to drive. My opinion is that it has too much grip, and lacks the character of an old school rally homolgation like a 90s subaru or evo
Ps. Before any of you get butt hurt about my opinion and decide i dont know what im talking about, feel free to check out my insta page @pissed_on_petrol so you can see that i own and drive many different cars and feel that my opinion is a valid one ??

The car has plenty of character. It's simply not what you are looking for though which is fine. If anything it's good you give other people the chance who appreciate the car instead of making it a garage queen just in hopes of future value. Though I guess you aren't making much of a loss if any selling right now which is convient, isn't it?Ps. Agree it is convenient but this was never my plan, unlike alot of other owners I know who bought the car with the plan to flip it for a profit! Just to clarify, I feel it lacks a bit of character at ‘normal’ road speeds, but it certainly has plenty when you’re pushing on, I just find it too capable! Its absolutely outrageous the speed it can carry across a b-road in any conditions! I prefer a car that takes a bit more effort to get the most out of! But hey, if we were all the same the world would be a boring place! Can't say that about many other cars.

Good stuff. It‘s interesting to see what way the front wheels are pointing when the car is “drifting“.https://www.youtube.com/embed/-F-fsvSQr1o

I‘m just back from two weeks of enthusiastic driving on snow/ice/slush. I was meant to get a drive of the Yaris GR, but someone crashed it before I got a chance.

I had an enjoyable drive in the Golf R though.

I felt this after the test drive in some pretty ropey conditions - not enough to put me off as I will be using it to drive to all corners of the country year round, very keen to try it it on lesser tyres though.Ps. Red cars are fastest because of how the redness makes them faster. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't understand science.
Can't argue with facts, you black and white losers.![readit](/inc/images/readit.gif)
Ok, so we established the losers by the chap whose bald, now ultimately what would be the best colour everyone would be happy with? (assuming no limit of choice) I would have liked the 'midnight purple' the nissan Skyline GT-R had available. Can't argue with facts, you black and white losers.

Would more power fix it or is it a wider issue in your view?
