New Budget Models

So the US has a budget Model Y and Model 3 launched. Reception has been somewhat lukewarm, but it seems they are likely to come to Europe at least.

The prices aren't especially cheap. While people were speculating that the new budget Y might have been as low as $30K, they are instead coming in at $39k.

The Model 3 has been at 39990 for a long while - I wonder if we are at risk of seeing the current £39K Model 3 being replaced with this new budget-spec one, so they can effectively get a price rise in without losing the important £40K boundary.

Maybe, although with Tesla's reputation being hammered by Elon, it would seem an odd move to push the price point up against competitors.
