I can see this question popping up a lot online but couldn’t see a satisfactory answer.

Took possession of a new Model Y this week. I was away when it was delivered. Ordered via my work scheme and looked din the app to my work email address.

Yesterday, when I got home, I set up the car with my iPhone as key- really easy, I just had to be near/in the car.

I’d like to set my wife’s iPhone up as a key for her to use.

All the guides/advice say go to my app, select “Security and Drivers” and then to add a driver. However, I only have “Security” as an option. Nothing in the app or guides seems to help.

Anyone got any idea? Is this restricted because I’m on a lease and not the owner?

I believe you will either need to ask the lease company to add her has a driver, or she can log into the Tesla app on her phone using your account details. You also need to add her phone as a key, this is done in the car. I'm not sure if you can have her phone as a key with out the app.

I provided the leasing company details of the second tesla account and it was added in about 2 hours.

The quick and easy way if the lease company won’t add her is to simply log into your account on her phone. The “key” side of it is only linked to the account name when using a “cloud” profile, she can set up a personal profile in the car with her settings when her phone unlocks the car.
