Covered a lot miles last week in my Model 3 (2022) standard range with no touchscreen. After the last update my screen started to keep re booting. Ususally when I was trying to navigate my way round Chester or trying to reverse into a tight parking space with no camera. Managed to get a patch sent to the car and I downloaded it - some improvement but not fixed yet. Most dangerouse aspect was non working indicators when the screen was off. Had to resort to Waze on my mobile playing directions from the phone. Am I alone in this malaise?

It used to be a common thing years ago on the MS and MX but I’ve not really heard anything like it recently although the latest AP HW4 is cooking itself at times but I doubt you have that.

You may find your indicators work, you’re just not getting a notification or clicking noise, that used to be the way before. You’re also presumably without a speedo. I’d be googling to see if your car is roadworthy with those issues, if not technically you might need to get the car recovered.

Now seems okay again. Stealth work on the car? See software upgrade with no notes.

Happened again on a long journey. Been remotely disagnosed as an issue with the charging flap mechanism which will now be replaced by a Tesla ranger in coming days. Can't fault the service!

I think I’d be more worried that a charge flap can cause the main screen, housing everything including the speedo, to repeatedly fail.

Charge flap changed for a new one and car worse than ever. It's no fun without speedometer, no radio and a screen that keeps turning off and on. I genuinely think I need a new touchscreen as the chip has become corrupted ? Not looking forward to the hour's commute to work in the morning!

Is the car still under warranty? Asking as I considered a second hand 3 as a work tool.

Yes, it still has a year's warranty. I drove it on country roads and motorway yesterday to work and it was great. Nothing went off and in sharp contrast to my communte home on Thursday night. I have a longish journey today so will be interested to see. They are currently examining the car remotely and Tesla customer support is pretty good in my experience.

Its quite funny - you think Tesla customer support is quite good, yet how long have you had a car, even after an attempted repair, that can fail in such a way you can't see the speedo? 19th of Jan you first reported it on here so at least 6 weeks.

Well it looks like I need a new chip and it's now on order. Amazingly the car is behaving perfectly these last few weeks and the touchscreen has been fine.

If the indicators don't work you have to give manual signals.

Ha ha. Seriously though I am going to park up my Model 3 as the local dealership was attacked last night (Belfast) and Teslas were vandalised with broken windows and door mirrors. Tragic.
