It looks like a big improvement all round, fixes most of the issues that caused me to sell my 2020 M3P. Hopefully this will continue to damage the older models value, as they are starting to become very attractive in the <£25k bracket.
I think that the reasons I got rid of my one (NVH, Build quality, Suspension) are a lot more tolerable at that price point verses what I paid for it (£55k).

The promo email I received was 460bhp.
Mine too.I am very happy with my 3LR and not especially tempted by this new model - the cost to trade up combined with a performance uplift I don't really need will make me stick. But I like the idea and, as an owner, I know how good they are. For someone having one car only, it would be quite the thing.
I spend my time overtaking ICE vehicles on the motorway into London, I suppose there must be some Tesla's driven slowly - I don't see them. The speedo on the left is a non issue, the new indicator buttons look (and are) awful.

Posted this on the main PH thread, but Shanghai cars seem to have 50hp less than California ones. Although maybe they don’t as the performance specs are the same. Confusing and a bit of a dampener!
Nor really sure it matters if the performance is the same surely? Most probably a typo or the way they have to show the power in different markets.China uses a less powerful battery and quoting motor performance figures has got Tesla in trouble before. The sum of the front and rear motors potential performance does not equal the car performance because the battery has a massive impact on the car, and that’s not changed.
As for 2.9s to 60, don’t forget that’s after the mystical roll out which be 0.2s, and unlike the Germans who typically quote conservative performance figures, Tesla quote optimal, full battery on a sticky road figures. It’s still quick, and the suspension and seats are welcome, but we’re now very much in the realm of performance being limited by the battery hence the modest improvement over the outgoing model in real world conditions.
Then let’s talk about the price.. Tesla seem to have opted the price by £5k since all the mags were out there to test drive it, and UK are being hammered compared to Europe and the US, irrespective of incentives.
If you’re thinking of getting one, sit on your wallet for a few months and you’ll probably save £5k

US: $54630 (on a like for like basis vs UK prices) = £43938Import duty +10% = £52,725
VAT +20% = £63,270
So like for like the UK price is cheaper (remember, US prices are quoted before sales tax; UK is inc VAT).
In Eire, say, the equivalent price is lower, but registration tax adds another €4K ish. In Germany it is slightly higher, but still below the UK price.
So, yea, we’re paying more than some EU countries, but less than the US on a like-for-like basis.
You do know you can’t ignore taxes in some countries but include them in others to try and prove a point.
If you want to go back to net price before tax, take the Irish price, remove vehicle registration, remove vat, remove import duty to see where you get to and compare that to the our net price. It’s circa 45k euro before import tax so 40k euro net or £34k
We pay £60k, less vat takes it down to £50k, less import tax and you get about £45k net, £10k higher

Also I don't see a tow hitch option which is really annoying.
The projected delivery times would suggest that the ones available 'to order' are already built and sat on a boat on their way here from China. There are very few configurations really as the options are limited to colour of exterior and one of 2 colours for seats. Adding the tow bar option would mean they'd need to guesstimate how many orders would tick that box and load the boat accordingly, which introduces an unnecessary complication and financial risk.I suspect it'll be like every other time they've released an updated model and once the initial orders are filled and they start to build some stock, they'll re-introduce the towbar option. I hope so anyway, as I want one for December delivery and would like the towbar for occasional bike carrier duty.
Also, am i being unreasonably optimistic to think that this car will get an OTA update or paid-for option to add the Ludicrous mode? I can't see why they wouldn't have just called it a Performance again otherwise. I can see something like the 'Performance upgrade' that was available post-purchase for LR owners for £1500.
The acceleration modes even seem to be set out with Chill | Sport | Insane | ...and then a space where a 4th option could be added.
Just me with an over-active imagination?

All the indications are performance is limited by the battery and it’s maxed (and why Europe and the US have different power figures as they use different batteries)The acceleration modes even seem to be set out with Chill | Sport | Insane | ...and then a space where a 4th option could be added.
