A mate who is a car detailer has a Tesla in for a once over.

Now it's no secret I'm not a leccyhead by any means but what an absolute heap of junk. It could have had a twin turbo V8 up front and it still would have been appalling.

Panel gaps were dreadful as was the paint finish. The interior was woeful, no redeeming features whatsoever. A huge screen in the centre of the dash and you had to use that even to alter the door mirrors.

Not a dig at it for being an EV, more to the fact it was woeful.

The only thing i would consider 'laughable' would be the panel gaps and paint finish. the other points you make are subjective and normally something the buyer is expecting (as they have seen pictures / researched the features)

I think electric cars are great, but yet I'm no fan of Tesla either. If it wasn't for the USP of the charge network I don't think they'd be doing as well as they have till now.

I'm not keen on the disruptive influence they've had on automotive design either with manufacturers now using stupid tablet screens being the order of the day. I get cost reduction and software defined vehicles but until a full autonomous vehicle is delivered they'll never be as safe as a tactile button/interface.

Edited to add this was in GG and since moved to marque specific forum, I didn't come here to slate peoples P&J's, Thanks mods hehe

Maybe so however, it's the first one I've seen up close with a chance to have a look around it.

They're pretty good at turning out EVs that are quite a lot more efficient than other similar vehicles.

How did it drive ? fit around your day to day life, routine, needs ? Did you find the running costs high ?

I don't think it's that.

I think it's because even the normal ones are faster than most supercars.

They seem to be the dream car of 20 something lads. I don't think that's because they're efficient and it can't be because they look good or make a great noise.

It could have 12 cylinders and cost an absolute arm and a leg too, but then it wouldn't be faster than your Aston Martin tongue out

Obvious troll...is obvious.

You couldn't be more wrong sweetie.

Not a troll at all, just pointing out how bad I thought the Tesla was.

Have nothing against EV's, they're just not for me.

No.

I just don't like the idea of them. Take it or leave it that's just how it it.

Anyhow, this post was about the Tesla I had a close look at, not whether I want an EV or not.
