Has anyone taken delivery of their Model Y Standard Range as yet and have any reviews?

Lease deals are very good on these this month due to an overstocking and Lex are pushing them out. Very tempted!

I got too tempted, cancelled my Kia order that they couldn’t tell me when it was arriving and ordered a Tesla.

Waiting to here if they have a car in my colour choice, should be here by end of December, start of Jan.

I have one arriving on Weds, looks like we will be getting the equivalent of 4000 miles free supercharging as well which is a great surprise. Offer stops on the 31 st December.

If you want one, get an inventory one, take delivery before the end of the year, get about 3k off and 6k or so free supercharging miles over the next 2 years.

They're having a fire sale

Would be good to know how you got hold of the supercharging miles, that would be a mega bonus.

Picked one up last week. Guy at tesla (in the hut at brent cross car park) said you get 6000 miles credited to account automatically but not till Jan and you don't need to do anything it just happens and you go to supercharger and it just doesn't bill you.
Pic above (if I've done it right).
Standard range (RWD) + blue paint + 20inch wheels.
It's nice and overall pleased with it.

Positives - nice driving position, quite high up, good visibility going forwards (awful rear vision but cameras for that). Decent interior space in back. Boot is shallow but has compartments below - not sure how useful for ikea etc. Still feels quite sporty despite bulk (presumably cos weight low beneath the floor), performance is decent (feels like a hot hatch though not as quick as Model 3 LR - see below), great noise when you accelerate (sounds like a jet on a runway). Big enough in back for large kids seat. Build quality seems decent - though not quite what would get for 55k from other manufacturers perhaps. Trim is better than the model 3 we got last year. Looks nice (I think). Usual tesla convenience/interface.

Negatives - ride is pretty firm on 20in wheels though not overly (just) - I couldn't bring myself to go for the standard 19s. Battery range is 241miles totally full which is a bit disappointing. Sentry mode takes 10-15miles per 24h range off (so turned it off) - may be something wrong, as our model 3 doesn't do anything like this. Burns through battery charge in cold over last week - I reckon about 20-25% more than you would expect, so in real world, range is sub 200 miles in Winter. It doesn't seem to charge on superchargers as quickly as my model 3 LR but again may be temperature.

Summary - if you're leasing on business and don't need to do long range trips, it prob makes sense. In comparison to what you'd get for same monthly payment on petrol/diesel I think its prob good deal. If you're comparing to £55k int combustion cars, you'll prob be disappointed by fit/finish and perhaps range/flexibility. If you needs long trips you prob need to take the hit from the LR variant as I'd be nervous about supercharger availability as it's going to spend a lot of time driving with range <100miles.

Our other car is a Model 3 LR on 18 inch which has been brilliant and even a year old shows max range of 320miles. It goes like a rocket but is a v comfortable cruiser both motorway and cross country, but is a bit of a faff to get the kids out of the back of. Trim has seen better days and isn't as hard wearing as other cars in this price bracket.

I think a Model Y LR would be the best combination of the two but there seems to be quite a premium on this at present. I actually like the driving position of the Y > 3 and if prices were decent I'd look to replace my 3 LR with a Y LR when time comes.

Hope this helps.

I've just ordered a Y LR on lease to replace a 3 LR which goes back in March. With the price dip and the increase in corporation tax to 25% from April, I won't be paying much more for the Y than the 3. Not bad for another 3 years on.

Picked mine up today it’s on the standard 19s and I think the ride and road noise are really good coming from a Cupra Formentor.

Charged at a supercharger but they were rammed so only running at 130kw for a short time, free miles don’t get added till Jan which is a pain.

It has swallowed a load of stuff, so much storage.

Had no issues at all with the wipers, although I do think the headlights are a touch too high so need to do a calibration on them.
