I'm trying to help my dad arrange insurance for his car. It'll be a company car.

It's the first time either of us are buying through the company so apologies in advance if for any silly questions.

The company will be the registered owner and keeper etc.

It needs to be company insurance for 3 named drivers.

Which insurance companies do you recommend who know and understand Tesla? e.g. some are asking if there is a tracker. Yes, there is but in the traditional sense. Also, some are asking f a dashcam is fitted. There is a camera but it's obviously already fitted as standard. Are there any insurers who understand these cars and quote for company cars?

Direct Line and LV are names that tend to crop up more than most. Both understand the tracker isn't a tracker in the normal sense and are fine with it.

Spoke to both of them yesterday and they both said that as the company would be the registered owner, keeper and policy holder, they cannot quote.

My Tesla is owned by my company and insured through DL. My policy says something like "vehicle not owned by policy holder". I am not at home, so can't check precise wording.

There's no such thing as a "registered owner" only "keeper" and that can be you. You do need to tell the insurance company that.

As for tracker, the answer is "Yes, but not a thatcham approved one". Some will accept that, some won't.

I am having a similar issue.

Unfortunately I am leasing through my company so Lex Autlease is the owner / keeper. The vast majority of insurance companies I have approached directly have said they cant help.

Not sure how to get around this. Any suggestions anyone?
