Hi all, the sun was beating on my instrument panel this afternoon and when I got back in, the screen had a burnt orange tinge to it. I let it cool down and then did a reboot and it came back on but with a white background instead of black and the display was very faint, so I think I've cooked it.

I'm well outside warranty, so does anyone know what Tesla will charge me for this replacement? Is it worth getting a ebay one and doing it myself (I'm capable) but don't know if it would need coding in? Is there another option of taking the board off and just replacing the LCD display itself?

Thanks all for any assistance!

No idea on the specifs, but Tesla OEM parts are susprisingly reasonable versus say Lexus.

Currently anyone can access the workshop manual and catalogue at zero cost. Worth having a look and than seeing if you can get a price. You will need to give them a VIN number for ordering parts.

I may have been a little premature. I went for a drive and it’s started to come back.
