Tesla Model X UK deliveries
Discussion
Nobody knows.
Tesla have made changes to the rear lights which will accommodate the CCS plug which was needed, but otherwise the MS and MX is limited to US, Canada and Mexico markets. New inventory often appears for the MS (a sign not every car is sold way in advance) and last quarter we saw a handful on MX, but not really much encouragement. Even when they do open up exports, they’ll probably do LHD markets first.
If I was a betting person, MS for Europe first half of next year, MX second half, and we’ll be 6 months behind that in the UK, so MS late 2023, MX early 2024.
Production volume is relatively low so even when they start delivering, new orders placed now could be 6+ months later
To be honest, I doubt Tesla will ever export them. The fundamental design is already 10 years old (MS and MX share an underlying chassis). If Mercedes’ took the old S class, popped a new engine in it and face lifted the cabin you’d not consider it a new car and that’s pretty much where Tesla are. The battery cells haven’t even been uplifted and while the pack configuration is a mild revision on the battery from 2019, it’s not much different to the one from 2016.

Thanks for this comprehensive answer. Will wait and see what happens to the UK deliveries of X.
