Anyone left a model 3 parked up for 6 weeks without charging?

I noticed mine seems to loose about 5 miles over night but after a couple of days only seems to drop a mile or so a day. This was when it was parked up for a week at the airport.

In 2 weeks I go away for 6 weeks so it will be parked up at home with nobody about to top it up.

I am going to fully charge it before I go to be on the safe side.

How long has anyone left theirs ?

What does the instruction manual say?

The manual suggests to leave it plugged in.

You can reduce the drain by turning features off like sentry mode etc but that may not be what you want to do. No option to keep it plugged in on a 3 pin?

May be worth storing it in a garage that offers that type of service where you can park up and keep it charged.

It will be parked on my private drive.

I might leave it fully charged and see how it goes, if it gets low I could get my sister to nip round and put it on charge for a day.

I don’t use sentry.

6 weeks is fine without sentry mode turned on.

If you can leave it plugged in to the charger, just set your charge level to about 60% and leave it alone, if it's a 2022 car with the LFP battery I'd leave it set to 100% as the Low voltage battery side can go flat if the big battery loses its reference points

if you can't leave it plugged in, it's going to lose 1% a day at most, so even after 6 weeks it will only have lost 40%.

Resist the temptation to check on it in the app - that will wake the car up.

With sentry off it should be fine, if left alone.

I thought that as long as it’s plugged in the power to features, such as sentry mode etc, is taken from the charger and not the battery? At least that’s what the instruction manual suggests;

Just do what Heres Johnny said. Makes no sense to do anything else.

Have a look at the RSymons RSEV youtube channel

They just bought a Model 3 with delivery miles that had been parked up for 2 years untouched.

There really should be no issue. My car used 1 or maybe 2% over the week I left it recently. And that included turning on the cameras every couple of days to check the security of the house.

Battery drain shouldn’t be an issue, it’s a large battery.

Thought you were talking about a BMW M3…

Not a Tesla but I've just moved my 1st gen BMW i3 after 21 months - lost ~50% charge in that time but started up 1st time no bother at all.

Why would he post a BMW query in the Tesla forums?

Yes, noticed that afterwards… wasn’t worth the edit then.

Quick update when I left it on the 27th June it was fully charged at 352 miles.
Checked today for the 1st time 15th July and it’s still on 348 miles.

I don’t think I have anything to worry about.
