The Y looks bigger than just a raised 3, I think I prefer the look of the Y although I am not sure. Has your brother trusted you with the keys yet and does it drive much differently?

I assume the biggest differences are:

- Feels like you are sat higher
- Hatchback more practical

Be interested to hear if you think it is worth the extra.

I took it for a quick spin.

Main differences in how they drive are.

Y felt a little bit slower, same dual motor drive train but I assume a bit heavier and on 20inch wheels, my ones on 18’s

The Y a Bit more body roll

Ride was fine in 20inch rims.

Physically, it much more than a jacked up 3. The rear hatch is much higher and the boot is huge with a very large under boot storage bin. The front is also taller, so the frunk looks bigger.

Inside, you sit higher and more upright. There is no central bar in the roof.

As far as is it worth it, my brother has a toddler and also a dog so it’s worth it for him. My children are older, no dog, the 3 fits the bill for me.

Ha, made me laugh! They are very white but we are too tight to pay for paint for company hacks….a 5 year warranty sounds good though…

Yeah 2 grand for paint….wow.

I’d think wrapping it was cheaper. And gives vastly more options.


I like the Y. It could convert me.

My Model Y turned up this afternoon, black with black. I've watched and read quite a lot about this car but nothing compares until you, see, sit and drive this car. Its supurb, it's a joy, a very happy mode of transport.

I ordered a red/white model Y last week with an estimated delivery date of July, they called me up yesterday and said that I can have it next week but unfortunately I am not in a position to have it yet so I had to say no.
