can anyone recommend an insurance company that looks upon Tesla favourably?

We currently have a small fleet insurance and looking at adding a Model 3 very soon. However, the extra cost and excess we are being quoted for is wiping away any potential tax savings on the Tesla. Other cars in the fleet include 2 x BMW 330e's a BMW X4 and a BMW 2 series. The Tesla will relace the 2 series but i am being quoted 2k more and that's with a 2.5k excess!

Direct line have a deal with Tesla I believe and are usually the cheapest. A friend also has a separate insurance policy for a very high excess that he took to reduce the policy.

Direct Line for me too. Most others quoted £1200-2400. £600 with DL

My renewal with Direct Line for the M3 LR has dropped from £630 to £550 this year. Maybe favourable data coming in now that the number of cars on the road increases?

@somouk I had not heard of the insurance for a high excess before. Who provides that do you know?

No idea, might be worth asking on the Tesla forums as it seems it was quite common at one point.
