First few days with new Tesla M3 SR+
Discussion
Car arrived Wednesday think it was made in China.
Really enjoying the car so far. The instant power is a blast. The technology is sector leading.
Santa mode music on the outside of the car playing down the high street with my 6 year old son hilarious and embarrassing!
My daughter singing karaoke on a drive out this morning
Both kids playing each other on the Car games before the school drop off
Really comfy and fun to drive
Got the app working too- the off peak charging sorted
Lots more to learn and first 190 mile return journey next week so will test the range anxiety!
Build quality seems good too.
For what it’s costing in forgoing a company car allowance on today’s lease deals I couldn’t get anything more than say a Kia Sportage so it’s a no brainer!

I’ve just come from a merc e coupe and it’s light years ahead of that
Not tried any other ev it’s a works car and I’d only gone forTesla due to the charging network
Which Evs tech is better out of interest?
No such thing as better. Its what's best for you that countsNot tried any other ev it’s a works car and I’d only gone forTesla due to the charging network

Some will point to things like auto wipers, auto headlight dipping - Tesla can struggle with those bits of tech
But they are great at OTA updates and lots of other cool stuff tech wise. No perfect car out there but, it seems like you are happy and have chose well
Enjoy your new ride!

Good you are enjoying it they are great cars, and yes all UK model 3's are now made in China.
Really seems to be great if it hadn’t been for them coming on to the company car scheme I wouldn’t have tried one at all. Lots of mixed feelings from people who haven’t tried one. I get that! It’s great fun aswell the performance is something else. Cpb1702 said:

They do, they just do it badly.
I'm regularly having to override the wipers at the moment, they either carry on when the screen is dry or stay intermittent in heavy rain. It's a pain having to do this through a touch screen.
The headlight auto-dip avoids blinding other drivers pretty well but it's generally too slow to go back to main beam.
Don't think I'm being down on the M3 though - as a thing to drive I love it, but it's not perfect.

Agree with both. Disabled auto main beam very quickly on ours as rubbish, auto wipers regularly needed messing with. In the Audi we have now that replaced it both work faultlessly. Can't be that hard surely?

I have the LR version and really like it. Comically cheap to run and very easy to own.I used to tease friends who owned them, I was wrong. They're remarkably good cars.
I own and have owned some fairly exotic tin and my chums with Teslas also own Astons, Ferraris etc. They all love their Teslas too. Negative comments invariably come from non owners.

I agree with all of the above. Looks like the LR is the one to have watching the Carwow drag race.

There are some issues with that video, if you see his "LR" it has a red line badge under in the Dual Motor badge.https://youtu.be/htGXA4McmGU
With the early ones they offered a Sleeper Performance, so the Performance software (motors and batteries are the same on the 2019 variant), but 18" wheels and LR suspension, brakes and no spoiler, this may be one.
Even if it was an LR he doesn't mention with or without performance boost.
Also the 2021 LR has a different rear motor, lower power capability, but more efficient.
Also some of the power figures are wrong:
2021 TM3 Performance is around 520bhp.
2021 TM3 LR without boost is around 435bhp.
2021 TM3 LR with boost is around 480bhp
2021 TM3 SR+ is around 280bhp
