All this tech is quite impressive

Book car in, added to the work is a request for authorisation of £12.50 for washer fluid. The warning lights been on for over a year so nothing like having to spend hard cash to motivate me to actually fill it up lol. They scan the car for fault codes before you drop it off

Drop the car off, no human contact needed, they don't even need the key fob. get a text thanking for dropping it off as i park up. very nice

Constant updates via SMS

front upper control arms and ball joints replaced under warranty to fix squeaking

internal heating fault traced to windscreen replacement guys not plugging a sensor in the rear view mirror back in

schedule of works and invoice emailed to me

collect car when ever I want, even 3 am since i have no keys or paperwork to collect, or payment to make.

so much more civilised than normal stealers, all the hassle, waiting, human contact, all removed

I've got my 2 week old model 3 going in on Friday as there is a seat tapping noise/squeak that is driving me insane. They didn't have a slot with a loan car for ages so I am hoping it won't take that long as I will sit there and wait for it. If it takes ages I will just have to take it back for when it has a slot with loan car.

This was really the bit that surprised me at the last visit I had to the Tesla service department. Not only did they not need my key or login details, when I picked up the car 'Pin to Drive' to activated (I have it disabled normally) and they txt me the code on my phone! I than remembered even at the last mobile service visit the tech chap didn't need the key, so I didn't think much of it at the time but how did he access the car when I hadn't even unlocked it!!

The implications are Tesla can access all their cars all the time, pretty much any where. Add in 'Full Self Driving' - if it ever gets there, and actually all the bit you need to 'operate' a car from A to B is in place with zero human interaction.

This stuff has only recently been implemented at the service centers, but the firmware of the cars must have full remote access fully coded for a while now. Scary or good? I suppose it depends on how paranoid you are.

Merc have been using mercedes me for a very long time to track and disable cars of owners who have defaulted on payments, it makes sense i guess

Its like many things, they can use it for good or bad i guess

i cant see how they could have made this a more hassle free experience, i am very impressed
