This may have been answered before, but I couldn't find it by searching. I've tried a new M3P v LR back to back. Was set on Performance, but after driving the LR, I feel the LR had noticeably better ride/compliance and also potentially quieter/calmer than the P.

The problem is I want the Performance stuff, ie the "performance", wheel look, spoiler etc with the LR ride. Is the LR with performance boost realistic comparison? Has anyone tried one with the boost?

I could feel the performance difference, but the 20s + suspension v 18s was probably more distinct - potholes the same, but aside that probably more compliant.

If you want the 18” LR ride, and it’s just the look you want, then no contest really. You don’t need to buy the accelerating boost right away. The spoiler and pedal covers can be glued in. Take the Aeros off, spray the brakes red..

I suppose I prob should have clarified, the P felt sharper and more responsive (accelerative - in all scenarios) than the LR - how much does the boost bring it back to that on the LR, or is it never going to get there?

Ideally it would be ride comfort of the LR + everything else of the P.

I did the same comparison. The LR is definitely softer but decided to get the P. If I didn’t, I reasoned that I’d always regret it. Hopefully picking it up this week. Ex demo with white interior and black paint. Given what’s happening with fuel logistics the timing couldn’t be better. Can’t wait!

The only difference between the LR and P suspension is the springs and it's very subtle, so the tyres are the biggest difference you felt.
Unless you want to track it, the LR with performance boost is the way to go.
You could upgrade a LR with brakes, tyres etc. if you wanted to end up with a better car than than the P for less money (apart from Track Mode).

I bought a carbon look spoiler off Amazon and fitted it the first day I got the car. The fit was ok with double sided 3m tape but decided to take it to my local body shop to get it bonded to the car.

After a lot of deliberation I've ordered a Model 3 P.

Musk also said something like

Best way to improve ride is drop tire pressure to ~39 psi. 45 psi is best range, but lower comfort.

The best way to improve ride is to replace the factory fitted coilovers.
The only thing you can do otherwise is reduce tyre pressures and it really doesn't make any difference to the crashiness.
The problem lies with the OE dampers, which are not particularly great.
