Entering the world of EV and the simplicity of speccing a Tesla is proving confusing

The company car list will only allow a standard range. Does that have the same spec as long range? Is the only difference performance and range? It’s not clear on Tesla’s website what toys you get with each model

Standard Range+ is rear wheel drive with roughly a 50kwh battery standard 18in wheels, optional 19in.
Long Range and Performance are AWD with roughly a 75kwh battery. Performance has motors tweaked for more power. Long Range has standard 18in wheels, optional 19in. Performance has 20in wheels, upgraded brakes and lowered stiffer suspension. Also gets a ‘track mode’ allowing configuration of power distribution and car balance.

Interiors are identical on all models, but the Standard Range doesn’t get quite as good a stereo, doesn’t get rear heated seats and doesn’t get a heated steering wheel. According to the spec list it also doesn’t come with floor mats, but current cars seem to be coming with them. All cars have front heated electric seats with driver memory, electric everything, powered boot, auto climate, remote access through app, adaptive cruise and lane keeping etc.

Slight corrections:

Current MIC LRs have a 77kwh battery, Performance has an 82kwh battery.

All 2019 onwards LRs have different motors to the performance. (Cheaper, but more efficient)

Heated rear seats are aftermarket purchase option in the app for the SR+, uncertain on the steering wheel.

I have an SR+. Main question is can you live with range of SR+ as compared to long range.
I suspect you can live without the very few extras that an LR brings as stated by previous post.
If you can live with SR+ range then that go with that.
Anything else you want to know about living with the SR+ let me know

I think AWD is the most noteworthy difference for me. We rarely do long journeys and when we do even the LR would need a charge, and we've got a wall charger at home, so range is not of much concern. In the winter the roads get bad where we live (Holme Valley just on the edge of the Peak District), so the added traction is a bonus.

Don't forget the LR and Performance have the premium interior which has the better soundsystem, ambient lighting and premium connectivity for a year which includes spotify and internet connection. Over the SR which only gets it for month trial.
